FULL STRUCTURE DECONSTRUCTION

The deconstruction of a building proceeds in the opposite sequence of its construction. It’s a systematic, organized process with a focus on thoughtful salvage of valuable materials like old growth lumber and period fixtures, and responsible recycling and disposal.

No. 1

PREPARATION AND PROTECTION

We first protect plants and landscaping, to ensure that fallen paint chips and debris don't contaminate the environment. If lead paint is present, we’ll place additional ground protection and build plastic walls if needed.

No. 2

SALVAGING AND DONATING

We salvage and donate all reusable materials including doors, windows, cabinetry, plumbing and electrical fixtures, flooring, and appliances like furnaces and water heaters. If possible, we’ll save items for reuse on the project.

No. 3

REMOVAL AND RECYCLING

We wrap lead painted material in plastic, then dispose of it in a drop box or dump trailer. We hand remove exterior siding and other structures, be it a deck, porch or garage, then salvage all the reusable materials and recycle the debris.

At project completion we remove protective sheeting and ensure that the entire job site, including walkways and landscaping are immaculate.
